Everyone’s been going Maleficent crazy since the arrival of Angelina and Brad into London town. None more so, it seems, than MAC Cosmetics. They have come up with a limited edition collection of Maleficent inspired shades and products, all emblazoned with the black winged silhouette that has become synonymous with the Disney character.
It’s not the first time that MAC has strayed into Disney territory. In fact Maleficent featured before in their Disney Villains collection. But who can blame them for revisiting the idea when this time Miss Jolie is at the helm?
The collection includes a deep rose red lipstick called True Love’s Kiss (£16.50) as well as a lip glass and lip pencil, an eye shadow palette quad made up of tawny colours (if we’re not mistaken they’re the same colours that make up Disney’s version of Aurora as a peasant girl in the woods…that ‘Once Upon A Dream Scene?), black eyeliner in Rapidblack (£19.00), a brow pencil (because you can’t pull off that Maleficent sneer without a killer pair of brows!), a sculpting powder (for those cheekbones) and the MAC Beauty Powder in Natural (£22.00). There are also two sets of eyelashes, three shades of nail polish and a Prep + Prime Highlighter (£18.00).
It’s a collection that embodies the newly envisioned character of Maleficent. The harshness, the deepness, set against a natural, and altogether far softer beauty.
