Macy’s Pays Tribute to Madonna’s Iconic Style

April 23, 2013

Macy’s is having a one day only exhibit opening up in their Century City, California store dedicated solely to Madonna’s iconic style transformation over the years.

The one day exhibit will feature some of Madonna’s most notable costumes and outfit choices since the start of her career in the eighties. Having shocked audiences around the world with her risque, provocative and often controversial wardrobe choices, the exhibit will pay tribute to her evolving style from young and bold singer to designer and earth mother.

Madonna has handpicked eight of her favorite costume pieces, with the famous Like a Virgin wedding dress from the 1984 MTV VMA’s displayed alongside that Jean Paul Gaultier corset.

Along with the costume exhibit, Madonna’s Material Girl clothing range, which was designed for Macy’s in collaboration with daughter Lourdes, will also be on display, and available to purchase.

Curator of The Madonna Fashion Revolution exhibit at Macys, Arianne Philips says, “Fashion has never been the same [since Madonna]. Bold and unforgiving, humorous and shocking, we can depend on Madonna to challenge us to rethink fashion.”

The Madonna Fashion Revolution exhibit will open on April 25 in Macy’s Century City, California store for one day only.
