British born and bred, Mal&Mod was created by Louise and Dan, partners who wanted to produce simple skincare with a core philosophy of balance and equality – balance and equality within every skin, with the planet and also between genders. Equally importantly, every product must also be hydrating, reparative, protective, effective, clean and honest. It is a four-product capsule range made for men and women, using recyclable glass bottles and bio-active ingredients.
Their key ingredient in their products is Glasswort, a moisture-regulating, hydration-locking sea herb with antioxidant, skin-brightening benefits. The capsule collection consists of a Cleansing Balm, Hyrdrating Mist, Serum and Recovery Oil to be used at night. I would have expected a day cream in the range with an SPF, but let’s see if that’s to come. The packaging looks super luxe and has a unisex look, it will take a man who is really into his skincare to use a balm and an oil but I know they are out there.
The Cleansing Balm is a gorgeous consistency and smells divine, the texture really encouarges you to massage your face at the end of a day and you can leave this on as a nourishing mask too. It contains Glasswort, Castor oil, which leaves skin smooth, supple and protected, while its omega 9 content helps reverse skin damage, unify tone and purify pores; Shea butter to nourish, comfort and heal; Olive oil for added conditioning plus antioxidant protection; Vitamin E for cellular defence as well as oil-regulating properties; Camellia oil, whose omega 6 content balances moisture, protects and supports suppleness; Chia seed oil to soothe, smooth and protect; and Pomegranate seed oil to strengthen and repair. It is a generous size pot that will last you a while.

It’s always great to see new British brands made with well thought out ingredients, wishing Louise and Dan lots of success.
