Just this week, Meryl Streep was nominated for an Oscar for The Post, making it her 21st Oscar nomination and a record. Now, the actress has been announced to join the cast of Big Little Lies for its second season.
It has been reported that Streep will be playing Mary Louise Wright, the mother of the abusive Perry Wright (Alexander Skarsgard). Other reports say that the season will be seven episodes long but so far, it has only been confirmed that Streep, Witherspoon and Kidman are confirmed to return as deals with the remainder of the cast are still being worked out.
