As usual, this year’s Met Gala did not disappoint with the eye-popping, head turning outfits that we have come to expect and look forward to each year. This year’s theme Manus x Machina: Fashion in An Age of Technology inspired celebrities and designers alike to try different styles to express both the theme and the individuals’ style.
Whether you love or hate them; here our some looks that certainly stood out from the evening…
The Metallics/Blacks
These ladies get props for following the theme as best they could. The metallic and black gives the futuristic, machine like qualities that couple “fashion” and “technology” perfectly.
Love it or hate it? Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Brie Larson, and Madonna each brought a little something different to the red carpet.
The Elegant Gown
Some celebrities opted for a more traditional look that doesn’t take as many risks, but is beautiful none the less.
Aja Naomi King, Liberty Ross, Zendaya, and Emily Blunt each rocked a long gown with flawless hair and makeup. Find out how to get Emily Blunt’s look here.
Fashion Favourites
Emma Watson and Blake Lively were certainly two highlights of the night. Emma especially gets extra points for wearing a dress made entirely of sustainable materials.
Biggest Wow
Claire Danes walked the red carpet in a gorgeous princess-like dress, but it wasn’t until designer Zac Posen posted on his Instagram the light up qualities the dress had.
Unique Looks
As always, these are the quirky looks that make the Met Gala so fun every year.
Dakota Johnson, Solange Knowles, and Alicia Vikander walk the carpet confident in their outfit choices.
