Since my late teens I’ve had a very strong image of the Michael Kors woman. I can readily picture her, dressed head to toe in an immaculate palette of olive and cream, striding across an airfield ready to board a private jet.
And whilst the image was changeable – if it wasn’t a private jet, it was a mega yacht, helicopter or super car, and the fashion palette, whilst always immaculate, segues between all black, pure white and seasonal hues – I always knew that was the type of woman I wanted to be. Jet-setting, strong, beautifully dressed and ready for anything. And so from the very first moment I set eyes on the MK woman, albeit in advertising form, I went out and purchased the classic Michael eau de Parfum (and leg shine – which still gets pulled out each and every summer), fervently dousing myself in the hope of imparting some semblance of the MK aura.

So you can imagine my delight now that Kors, fresh from taking the fashion and accessories world by storm, is expanding his empire into beauty.

The king of the much-loved and oft-worn golden-plated watch has moved on to gold-plated make up.
And it is beautiful.
In just four weeks time, the brand is set to launch a make up line (all of which just so happen to flatter chase-the-sun skin) featuring gold-encased plush lipsticks, glossy lacquers, after sun lip tints, bronzing compacts, nail lacquers and even a liquitan sunless tanner and after sun gelee.
Michael has kept it minimal for his first make-up line – with timeless neutrals that can withstand any season – and elegant shades that perfectly epitomise the MK woman. Finally.
Michael Kors beauty, from £20 launching 18 September, exclusively at House of Fraser.
