The 2014 Pirelli calendar – which can be expected later this year – marks the 50th anniversary of the ever-so exclusive, annual publication.
And what better way to celebrate than with typically sensual images of the most in-demand models – Helena Christensen, Miranda Kerr, and Alessandra Ambrosio – as shot by some of the most renowned fashion photographers including Patrick Demarchelier and Peter Lindbergh.
As expected, in signature Pirelli style, the image all have an erotic touch – showcasing the models in black jumpers in one photo, and white buttons-up, black stilettos, and essentially nothing else in another. There’s an abundance of toned, smooth flesh, gutsy tresses and sexy, sultry eyes.
Lindbergh doesn’t hold back when expressing his thoughts about creating a magazine that closely resembles Pirelli. “About 25 companies have asked me to do a calendar like Pirelli,” he says. “They want chocolate or machines in the picture. What do I tell them? In English? Why don’t you f*** off and ask somebody else?”
And unless you’re amongst the few 20,000 VIPs who receive the magazine, sadly aside from a handful of images, we’ll never truly know what the fuss is all about . . . but hey, we can sure imagine.
