Three-time Oscar nominee Johnny Depp stars as notorious James “Whitey” Bulger in new drama Black Mass – and wow does he look different!
Set in South Boston during the 1970’s, Black Mass tells the story of Irish Mobster Bulger (Depp); the mastermind behind a violent gang in Boston and the ‘alliance’ to corrupt FBI Agent John Connolly. (Joel Edgerton) The ideas was to team up and work together with the FBI in order to eliminate their enemy; The Italian Mob.
The FBI slowly realise Bulger has created a criminal empire with the help of corrupted FBI agents – The film, spans between the 1970s through to the 2010s, and examines Bulger’s unbelievable life and career, from a small time thug who became an FBI informant; to a criminal leader ruling the Boston underworld, and finally to a wanted fugitive who escaped capture for almost 20 years. To make things even trickier, factor in that your brother is totally straight and the senator for the city, it’s the only time you’ll see Depp and Cumberbatch as brothers I’m sure!

Johnny Depp stars alongside a star-studded cast including the likes of Kevin Bacon, Benedict Cumberbatch, Sienna Miller and Dakota Johnson; it’s definitely one not to miss. Depp has already received critical acclaim for his part in it, you will struggle to recognise him, Depp plays mean with a heart really well.
