The 1996 blockbuster is back for round two – Independence Day: Resurgence.
Yesterday on Sunday 13th Dec, the first trailer for the sequel was finally released, showing what became of the human race following the alien attacks almost 20 years ago.. Many of the cast are back from the original film, although sadly we won’t be seeing Will Smith in this one.
Jeff Goldblum is returning as the scientist, including Bill Pullman (President Whitmore), Judd Hirsch (Julius Levinson) and Brent Spiner (Dr. Brakish Okun). Newbies include Liam Hemsworth, Jessie Usher, Maika Monroe, Sela Ward and Charlotte Gainsbourg.
Using recovered extraterrestrial technology, the nations of Earth collaborate on an immense defense program to protect the planet. When the aliens attack with unprecedented force, only the ingenuity of a few brave men and women can save the world.
Earth suffered massive losses back in 1996 although mankind managed to defeat the aliens, it is still a primary target…so come 2016, an attack is inevitable.
