So even though Will Smith isn’t featuring in the new Independence Day film, you’ll be pleased to hear he isn’t away from the big screen for much longer and you’ll be catching him starring in his newest movie, Concussion.

Based on the true story of forensic pathologist Dr. Bennet Omalu’s (Smith) discovery in 2002. He discovers neurological deterioration that is similar to Alzheimer’s disease while conducting an autopsy on former NFL football player Mike Webster (David Morse).
Omalu names the disorder ‘chronic traumatic encephalopathy’ and points out society’s reluctance to be made aware the harmful risks when it came to playing sports; and as other athletes face the same diagnosis, the doctor embarks on a mission to raise public awareness about the dangers of football-related head trauma.
