Hollywood is often defined more by the twisted antics that go on behind the scenes than the films and television shows it produces. In this new trailer for satirical drama Maps to the Stars, we get a glimpse of the damages that a celebrity-obsessed society have on one famous Hollywood family and the fame-crazed people they come in contact with. David Cronenberg looks deep into the most dysfunctional family you could imagine.
John Cusack plays a famous psychotherapist and patriarch of a family that includes an over-bearing stage mom (Olivia Williams), a troubled child star (Evan Bird) and an estranged daughter (Mia Wasikowska) who returns to Hollywood after a stint in a psychiatric hospital. The film also includes Julianne Moore as a neurotic actress stuck in the shadow of her superstar mother, and Robert Pattinson as an aspiring actor and writer. Watch as these often grotesque but immensely watchable characters entwine in their lives, an ‘only in LA’ backdrop to this story.
