Lily Collins, Alden Ehrenreich and 15 times Academy Award nominee, Warren Beatty star in upcoming film, Rules Don’t Apply.
Set in the late 50’s in Hollywood, the film follows the story of an aspiring young actress, Marla Mabrey (Lily Colling), her ambitious young driver, Frank Forbes (Alden Ehrenreich) and billionaire, Howard Hughes (Warren Beatty) for whom they both work.
The story of how they come together goes something like this – Mabrey (a devout Baptist virgin) arrives in LA under contract to Hughes where she meets her driver Forbes (a deeply religious Methodist) at the airport.
The pair find an instant attraction as soon as they meet which ultimately puts their religious convictions to the test. To make things even more difficult for them, Forbes is engaged to be married to his 7th grade sweetheart, on top of Hughes’ #1 rule: no employee is allowed to have any relationship whatsoever with a contract actress.
Hughes’ behavior intersects with Marla and Frank in very separate and unexpected ways, and as they are drawn deeper into his bizarre world, their values are challenged and their lives are changed.
