The Isle of Dogs – yes our mind goes to London’s E14 postcode too, but we’re talking about the latest film by Wes Anderson.
Set in dystopian Japan, where dogs have been outlawed, the story follows a lost dog, Spots.

Though the trailer has received raving reviews, there has been some backlash from some viewers on Twitter, saying: “The Isle of dogs seems cute and visually great but you know what would be greater??? casting Asian actors in bigger roles!!!!”
Well this film didn’t need any changes or improvements as far as I am concerned, I am a big Wes Anderson fan and if like me you are too I think you will love his latest original, as always, film is so clever and fun I didn’t want to see any people in it.
The voices of Ed Norton, Bryan Cranston and Greta Gerwig work so brilliantly with the characters and these outlawed dogs rip at your heartstrings. Making an animated film for adults must have its challenges but this is such a clever script and naturally it is quirky, stylish and super cute. It is one of the most original films you will see, definitely one for a film night
