Not So Bright White

August 15, 2013

I’m all for embracing a pure white, Tipp-Ex nail, but sadly my far-from-olive skin tone isn’t quite so keen on the idea. Instead of looking edgy and pure I just look unkempt and a little grimy – despite immaculately and professionally shaped nails (mirroring the cuticle bed of course) and high-shine top coat (I’ve still yet to come across one quite so reflective and glossy as Seche Vite, £9).

But never one to be beauty-trend beaten, I’ve been trialling a touch of shimmer here and a dash of mirrored sheen there in a bid to temper the blinding white tones. Far more flattering, a little more futuristic and altogether more wearable. Try Mavala’s Cool Silver for a pearlised off-white finish, Tom Ford for a universally flattering, groomed feel and Butter London for its high-shimmer texture.
