Glittery eyes, goth glamour lipstick & raw youthful skin are just some of the makeup looks emerging out of the FW16 New York Fashion Week shows. Here are some backstage beauty secrets from a few shows that stood out for us; and which key makeup products you need stock up on to get your look bang-on trend…
VICTORIA BECKHAM

Corsets, flats and sleek ponytails called for the “VB Girl” to have a strong but very minimal makeup look. Bright eyes for a wide awake, and youthful beauty look meant that there was lots of glowy plumped up skin with hues blended softly on the eyes. With tan eyelids and some statement lip colours added in here and there; sophistication is key…

DESIGUAL

Described as “vintage-inspired makeup with a play on textures” the Desigual look was all about soft dewy skin with warm hues around the eyes to pop them out.

Jenny Packham

It was all about the sparkle at the Jenny Packham show – with glitter, glitter and some more glitter. Falling into the thick spidery lashes, golden glitter was packed onto the eyelids for a little oomph. The models glimmered as they walked down the catwalk.

MONIQUE LHUILLIER

Makeup extraordinaire Val Garland wanted this look to be “Talitha Getty leaving her yacht for a photo shoot” with strong black pencil and liquid liner all around the eyes to really frame them against flawless skin.

RODARTE

Rodarte went fantastical for AW16 and with deeper than dark lips, ethereal eyeshadows and popping-out cheekbone highlights. “The makeup look is beautifully romantic, with a contrast of deep colour.”
