It doesn’t matter how old you are, you’re never too old for Paddington Bear! This British institution has grown up a bit too and now has his own app, and following the launch of Paddington Goes for Gold, a picture book adventure for young-uns, comes a more substantial read in the form of Paddington Races Ahead. London has gone sport crazy and our hero finds himself in his usual scrapes causing the evacuation of a London bus and being mistaken by a film crew for a famous Peruvian hurdler. Oh and there’s also a spot-of-bother with some shaving cream.
Michael Bond wrote his first Paddington book in 1958 and he’s still going strong. The cover illustration is by the original Paddington illustrator Peggy Fortnum and the book illustrations are by R.W.Alley who captures the spirit of Paddington Bear perfectly.
