Julia Louis-Dreyfus, the woman we came to love as Elaine in Seinfeld, is back in action in HBO’s latest comedy series “Veep“.
Dreyfus stars as Selina Meyer, a fictional American vice president quite incompetent at her job. After moving from Senator to Veep, Meyer soon finds her duties to be everything her peers had warned her about.
Dreyfus’ castmates include Anna Chlumsky as Chief of Staff, Matt Walsh as Director of Communications, and Tony Hale, who previously played the hilariously neurotic Buster Bluth on ‘Arrested Development’, as Meyer’s personal aide.
Created by Armando Iannuci, Veep uses the same production style as Iannuci’s BBC satires In the Loop and The Thick of It. Some are saying Veep is merely an Americanized version of his shows, but we’re willing to see for ourselves.
Veep premiered on HBO 22 April and is set to hit Sky Atlantic in June. Until then, check out the trailer below…
