Paris Fashion Week may be winding down, but the Spring/Summer 2017 collections continue to impress. Some collections reflect the upcoming spring season, with soft colors and floral designs while others mix it up with dark colors and rough textures.
Elie Saab, whose collections are always breathtakingly glittery and dreamy did not disappoint. Blues and tans made up the majority of the collection’s color, and looks were paired with embellished headbands and belts. Most of the collection was made up of floor length gowns, though there were some pant suit looks that made a nice addition.
Supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio brought major attention to the Ralph and Russo show. Abrosio closed the show held at Grand Palais, in a hand-embellished white gown and feathered cape ensemble. While most of the looks were white, there was a handful of other colors, even a few black. The SS17 collection focused on sheer looks while each model sported a black blunt bob hairstyle.
Light shades and soft textures were prevalent in most collections to embody spring, but Giorgio Armani Privé went in a completely different direction, an almost “orange is the new black” approach. Burnt orange satin made up ensembles in the collection, along with crocodile leather. Nicole Kidman and Isabelle Huppert were among the guests in the front row.
Valentino also drew attention as this was the debut collection that designer Pierpaolo Piccioli designed completely on his own for the fashion house. Column dresses made up the collection, with straight and clean lines, and some sequin detailing.
