If you are looking for something that is truly one of a kind, look no further than Parterre perfumes. Julia and David Bridger began the perfume brand with the hopes of incorporating their loves for arts, gardens, and perfume into their business.
Parterre owns a 50-acre estate garden, Keyneston Mill, where they grow more than 2000 types of different plants which are used to make their perfumes. The garden’s designs are inspired by famous art from Renaissance Italy to the 21st century. They hope that the gardens will not only be the place that inspires their delightful scents, but that they will serve as a creative hub for artists as well.
They hope to host events such as cocktail evenings, open air movies, and performing arts events in the gardens in the coming future. You can also take perfume and ingredients workshops at the gardens as well.
Their scents are designed by master perfumer Jacques Chabert who has worked for large brands like Chanel in the past. They take plants from seeds that have been planted on the property, harvest, distill, and refine them to make a limited number of their scents each year.
This year’s scents include Root of All Goodness, a warm ginger scent, Run of the River, a refreshing lemon, lime, and bergamot mint scent, and a Tribute to Edith, a rose patchouli scent in tribute to Edith Piaf.
The scents can be purchased at Fortnum & Mason and start at £95.
