With the end of Paris Fashion Week comes the end of September fashion month. Between New York, London, Milan and Paris, we saw some jaw-dropping styles. The end of Paris Fashion week gave us plenty of styles to obsess over until fashion month comes back around in February.
Hermes
Under the direction of creative director Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski, the Hermes SS 17 line focused on sleek, elongated silhouettes with defined waists (belts and high waists abounded).
The line combined a light palette of blush and ivory with pops of colors like bright pink and yellow. A lovely combination of retro and modern, we loved the pops of color that blended with more neutral tones.
Stella McCartney
Stella McCartney’s SS 17 line was playful, sporty and fresh. The front row was graced by family and friends of the designer: husband Alasdhair Willis and brother James front row; also friends Kristin Scott Thomas, Natalia Vodianova and Rosemary Ferguson, lending to an intimate vibe.
McCartney focused on living a wholesome and cruelty free life with a playful, wearable, fresh collection. Details included drawstring waists, fun prints, in fresh classic colors including bright white, olive, khaki and blue.
Christian Dior
The show was led with a white quilted fencing suit, introducing a sporty yet formal vibe and fencing motif. Boots, quilted vests and visors added to the fencing motif and blending chic and couture with street and sporty.
The company’s first female creative director, Maria Grazia Chiuri said of the line, ““I think sometimes the vision of Dior is too close to the ’50s. But you have to propose the Dior codes in a modern way. This is a daytime outfit, it’s contemporary sportswear in a couture attitude.” Sticking to the typical Dior palette of black and white (but accented with pops of red), Grazia Chiuri achieved a blend of the classic and the modern.
