You may not recognize her without her long blonde hair and a dragon perched on her shoulder, but let it be known that Emilia Clarke not only excels at her Game of Thrones role, but is starting to expand into major theatrical films as well. After her first big blockbuster hit in action packed Terminator Genisys, she is now taking on romantic lead as Louisa Clark in film Me Before You.
The film, based off the book by Jojo Moye’s, tells the story of unexpected love. She shares her first time as a romantic lead with Hunger Games alum Sam Claflin. She noted that her role as Louisa is “much closer” to her as a person rather then her GoT character because of her more playful demeanor. She also got along great with Sam, sharing that his dimples are “absolutely petrifying.”
As for her true home, Clarke still feels very connected to her character Khaleesi and doesn’t plan on dying off the show anytime soon. For the new season, Emilia is looking forward to Khaleesi remaining single for a bit and that her days of “relying on a big strong man are over.”
Of course, the number one question the actress also gets is about the excessive nudity on the show. Her snide comment is that all she needs is “vodka and some flattering lighting.” However, on a serious note she insists on only doing nudity on the show if it is absolutely important, and “if a nude scene forwards a story or a shot in a way that adds insight to the character, I am perfectly fine with it.”
She also has teased in the past that her biggest dream would to play Bond. Her role of “Jane Bond” would include Leonardo DiCaprio as her sidekick lover, of course.
Me Before You will be released in cinemas 3rd June.
