Jojo Moyes‘ best-selling romantic novel Me Before You has made it to the big screen, telling the story of love in unexpected circumstances.
Starring Game of Thrones‘ Emilia Clarke and Sam Claflin, who play the adorable on-screen love interests and take on the roles of carer Louisa Clark and Will Traynor. Even the trailer might make you need to reach for some tissues – we love a good sob at the cinema; and this story is bound to melt your heart.
I have read the Jojo Moyes’ book; and it was a fast read purely because I couldn’t put it down. I was literally counting down the days till this film comes out so I could see this wonderful book come to life (it’s so close!). Beauty and the Dirt ha the privilege of feasting our eyes on the film pre-release – and just a heads up – you WILL need those tissues.
Without giving too much of the story away; Lou (Clarke) lives in a quaint town in the English countryside. Lou is the loveable, quirky character who you can’t help but fall for. Her mismatched goofy outfits, upbeat view on life and not to mention those amazing eyebrows (you’ll get what we mean when you see it). As she loses her long-term job at a café she is ultimately forced to take the next job available at the employment centre to help carry on supporting her family.
Lou has no other option but to take a job at the local ‘castle’ and become a carer for a man named Will (Claflin); who hails from a wealthy family and became wheelchair bound in a tragic accident. Will is particularly handsome with a terribly sarcastic manner to deal with his lifestyle. No longer the adventurous soul he once was, the now extremely cynical Will has pretty much given up on life. Lou sets out to show him life is worth living – and embarks on a series of adventures, no matter how reluctant he might be…
