In the cover story of this week’s issue of The Edit Magazine, The Good Wife star Julianna Margulies talks equality and her dedication to her philanthropic work, as she was snapped in elegant pieces from acclaimed designers including Alexander Wang, Givenchy & Balmain.
The married mother-of-one looked stunning in perfectly applied makeup, wearing pre-fall day-to-evening pieces and slicked back hair.

The star, who is in her late 40’s, wears such a perfect makeup look to bring out her features in this shoot. Here are some essential items you need to recreate this sophisticated look:
Celebrity makeup artist Molly Stern for Elizabeth Arden recently revealed she recently applied Flawless Finish Perfectly Nude Foundation by Elizabeth Arden, £28 on the actress for the awards to achieve the perfect base. The trick is to sparingly apply a lighter coverage on more mature skin; and only where needed, to even out skin tone naturally.
Flawless Finish Perfectly Nude Foundation is a light, and breathable formula which is also moisturises the skin. It smooths on effortlessly for a naturally luminous look that lasts all day.
This foundation can be ordered online in a huge selection of colours to match your skin tone perfectly from a range of beauty stores, including Boots, House of Fraser or Debenhams.

You hear the word ‘contour’ everywhere, and it got pretty huge recently becoming a vital part of most makeup regimes; but it doesn’t have to be as scary as it looks, nor as difficult. It can be really subtle, and just used as a way of shaping and defining your cheekbones, not necessarily your whole face. Softly applied in the hollows of your cheekbones and blended upwards, can be a great way of giving a little more definition.
Creams are great to use as they blend out well, can be applied super-sheer, to get a really natural look, whilst still moisturising the skin to keep it looking supple and fresh. Choose a colour that is like your skin tone – only darker, almost imitating a shadow falling onto your skin.

Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate, £56 is a perfect contouring palette for this look, including a contour colour and a highlighter. It comes in two shades; making it suitable for all skin tones. This duet of highlighting and shading creams is designed to make sculpting and contouring the face simple.
The sheer light cream is best used on the tops of the cheekbones to draw light onto the skin, and to brighten and lift the face. I like to use my finger tips with this highlighter to press in the product and almost melt it into the skin. This is gorgeous on any age-skin as it is more of a moist, pearl sheen than a shimmery highlight.
The darker shade defines and contours bones while staying invisible on the skin, and sinks in after it is blended out to get a natural effect. Great applied with a small tapered, softer foundation brush. Try Real Techniques Setting Brush, £6.99, it is perfect for this and such a good price too.
The final is brow grooming. To shape and define your natural brows like Julianna’s it is essential to fill them in with natural shades to match your hair colour, and then to set them in place with a brow mascara/gel (depending on how full your brows are).

Bobbi Brown Brow Pencil, £16, is a great product to fill in, and a most natural look, this formula ensures the blendability of an eyebrow powder with the precision and convenience of a pencil. Using light strokes, feature this product through the natural shape of your brow.
Body Shop Brow & Lash Gel, £10, is a great grooming product to ensure your brows stay in place, and will define the hairs to give a natural look. Plus you can use it on your lashes, too! This two-in-one product comes with integrated applicator brush.
