We’ve been seeing a lot more of Reese Witherspoon recently, especially with the fabulous Big Little Lies on HBO. She was unsurprisingly in full glam during the Met Ball last night – everything from the gown to her hair and makeup was on point for us.
We loved her makeup look created by Celebrity Makeup Artist Molly Stern. The inspiration for the look as explained by Molly came from the simplicity of Comme des Garcons runway beauty where they tend to create an accent to a more sheer look and in this case this was the eyes.
Molly used a rich sapphire shade from the Elizabeth Arden Little Black Compact Eyeshadow Trio (£36) to pick up on the shade of thread in Reese’s dress. She then added depth to the look by lining the top lash line with Beautiful Colour Smoky Eyes Powder Pencil in Midnight (£17) and smudged out to create a smoky eye. To finish the eyes, she curled the lashes and applied two coats of the Lasting Impressions Mascara (£22).
