Any product that says it’s going to energise me will get my attention. I’m tired all the time unless I am jetlagged and then I do use the This Works Pillow Spray which does help send me off to sleep in a cloud of lavender. So it seemed obvious that a This Works Energy might wake me up. This Works Energy Bank Breathe In (£18) comes in a cute purse-sized roll-on and you put it on your pulse points and at the point where your brain is so tired it needs to eat a family-sized bag of Revels but you don’t have the energy to go to Tesco’s, this will help. I like the smell of it: herbaceous, more country tavern than spa, but more than that I like to inhale it to feel alive.

I also have enjoyed the Energy Bank Skin Glow (£30) described as fuel for an energised complexion. It’s green algae and cornseed extract boosts skin function. Vitamin C and red algae extract refine and brighten. So as I was already smelling of the pulse point roll-on I decided I would take a bath in something uplifting and then drown myself in the glow, only afterwards did I realise the glow was for my face. So clearly my tiredness hadn’t really subsided, however, it was very exciting to have an all-over skin glow and smell so freshly laundered. It really helped the skin on my arms, I felt I had tight and toned arms even though I’m not sure this was the function of the product.
I’m also a little bit dyslexic so when I read Energy Bank I must have thought it was Energy Bath. Either way it really was uplifting and it did make the skin feel wonderful. It’s just that if you use it on your face, it probably lasts a long time and now, mine is all gone.
