We are trying to eat healthier diets, look at food labels more closely and the same goes for our drinking habits. Cold press juices and smoothies are now very much part of our daily habits, thankfully. We love the choice in the range by SaVse – the healthy smoothie and juices range which launched in 2013.
SaVse was founded by Guka who came to the UK in the 90’s with his family from Georgia. He grew up on healthy juices so naturally he decided to take the idea and turn it into a business. Though “healthy drinks” were still around back when SaVse started, Guka felt that most of them had preservatives to keep them fresh or they used pasteurisation to help preserve them. The trouble with this was that the drinks ended up losing some of their nutrients but Guka wanted to give his customers the best quality juices possible, so he explored an alternative method of packaging: high pressure processing (HPP) or what we know as cold pressed juices. At the time, he faced another challenge because the technology was only available in The Netherland, but long story short, that’s where he ended up basing his production.
SaVse are continuing to grow, with Guka’s mum thinking up new recipes in her kitchen. Recently, they even added two new juices to their range – Grove Orange and Jonagold Apple as well as the first ever cold pressed protein range (Protein Punch, Protein Blast and Protein Smash), so any fitness junkies can easily get their quick protein fix with one of these available at Boots, Selfridges, Whole Foods and Planet Organic.
