Tucked away in the hotels before the Oscars and the Globes are the gifting suites. Clothes, jewellery, luggage, even furniture. You see them stuffed under the arm of assistants making their way out. At this gifting suite there was AmStyleEvents.com. The most amazing airbrush artists and graffiti artists were waiting to custom design brand new, spanking white converse. They also customise phone cases, T-shirts, bags – whatever you want really.
I gave the artist a picture of Roger the cat from my phone and 20 minutes later my puss was on my boots. I have not been able to walk out without people stopping me. They did a beautiful job. I love the idea of something being made so personal, so quickly and so beautifully. These are pieces that guests will take home and treasure. It is a service they offer for individuals and for events and parties. Celebrities of course love the idea that they design something themselves – as do we all.
