It’s been the year of Chanel. With Karl Lagerfeld releasing a black and white film featuring Keira Knightley as Coco Chanel, picking up the flawless Diane Kruger for the face of Chanel Beauty and opening their largest Chanel boutique in London. Chanel has been on a constant success ride. With all the glitz and glamour aside, there is still more to know about the force that is Mademoiselle Coco Chanel. Forty years after the fashion legend’s death, the London College of Fashion is revealing an exhibition of portraits of the icon.

Created by artist and personal friend of Chanel, Marion Pike, the five portraits will be paired with a selection of couture pieces that exemplify the pair’s creative friendship, which began in 1967.

The exhibit opens from 5 September to 16 November, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Fashion Space Gallery, 20 John Prince’s Street, London, W1G 0BJ.
