Eyeing up the pretty Marc Jacobs Beauty products from across the pond, scrolling through the tempting-as-hell US Sephora website, seeing pretty Instagram swatches, considering flying to America just to buy makeup – that time has gone! This luxury makeup brand finally launched in the UK earlier this year and is available to buy in Harrods, so I’m pretty damn happy about it.
What I’m even happier about is that I got my hands on some brilliant Marc Jacobs products and wanted to share them with the Beauty and the Dirt readers – to show how they apply and look on. There’s nothing nicer than flawless, gleaming skin – so here we have the three products that’ll get you well on your way to glimmering perfection: the Re(Marc)able Full Cover Foundation Concentrate (£37), the Remedy Concealer Pen (£25), and Glow Stick Spotlight (£28).
First up, the Re(Marc)able Foundation, which has that lovely almost-powdery liquid velvet texture, and glides onto the skin effortlessly leaving a semi-matte finish. I imagine it would come up slightly more matte on drier skin types, so I would say slightly better suited for normal to oilier skin. But saying that, it really isn’t drying and doesn’t LOOK powdery on the skin which is great. You only need a small amount, it is slightly buildable but to be fair it covers so well you don’t need to build it up lots. Just blend blend blend and you’ll come out wonderfully even and smooth. You’ll love it. It lasts well on me – it doesn’t gather, patch up, and it stayed looking good all day. You could say it is (funnily enough) remarkable!
Doing all the brightening, correcting and concealing in one go, the Remedy Concealer Pen was slightly more medium coverage which left a creamy and healthy consistency under my eye area – which is really nice. Nothing worse than dry or too-heavy under eye makeup right? This stick contains a blend of anti-ageing and hydrating ingredients including collagen, vitamin water and coconut extracts. The metal tip on the applicator is designed to cool instantly on contact with the skin as you apply it too, which is clever. This is great for when you just want to wipe away the sins underneath your eyes! It’ll do the lot for you.
Last but absolutely not least, the Glow Stick Spotlight. My gosh I am a little bit in love with this – the colour, texture, and pure strength of glow it gives. It’s mixture of both silver and golden pigment which makes it perfect for most skin tones, imparting an illuminating universal glow. The oval shape is designed for a one-swipe coverage, but in the video I just used my fingertips but the swiping does work – you just need to blend it in a teeny bit as the payoff is great! It is the perfect amount of creamy, dewy loveliness.
