I’ve been having a little trouble with my skin recently – I tend to go through patches of good and bad, no biggie, but it BOTHERS me. You know how it is. I put it down to build up, as I love wearing lots of coverage and my skin is quite oily; and as I’ve gotten older the texture isn’t always as smooth and I suffer from the odd breakout here and there. When I read about the Oxygenetix Oxygenating Foundation it was definitely something that caught my eye and was eager to try out for myself.
What is it? This clever foundation is basically as breathable as it gets, allowing for makeup junkies and anyone with problematic or treated skin – to be able to layer up coverage and know that it isn’t doing any harm – in fact this one contains an SPF25 for extra protection and actually works to help heal the skin too while it’s on. Wow.
Named the ‘breakthrough foundation’ created for doctors, Oxygenetix is an innovative formula that has been developed to deliver buildable and reparative coverage whilst allowing oxygen to reach the skin. This impressive quality is especially effective for anyone who suffers from acne-prone skin or rosacea. Oxygenetix also promises to withstand water, sweat and smudges. What’s more – this special foundation optimises skin cell oxygenation, in other words, encouraging healing, repairing, diminish scarring, help with redness, the lot. It’s pretty great, but it comes with a price tag. For a 15ml bottle it costs £45. So it’s quite possibly the most expensive foundation there is. But is it worth it?
I put Oxygenetix to the test – and I must say, it really does have the most impressive qualities. I do feel like it looks great on my skin, over the whole day too. It doesn’t look cakey, or built-up even when I do pile it on. It has a gorgeous glowy sheen once on, the only criticism I have is that a little goes a little way. So to build up coverage – I’m painstakingly using a few pumps each time, and I know it’s costing me pounds for each wear!
I filmed application for you to see how this glorious foundation goes on – along with some other skin products afterwards to complete the look. I wanted to show how the foundation looks without using any concealer – as it would defeat the whole idea of your skin being able to breathe if you add tons of other products on top of this foundation – plus to show you can build up the coverage in certain areas. Using a damp makeup sponge was a lovely way to apply this foundation,
All I can say is I dread the day when mine runs out. It really is an impressive product. Take a look at how Oxygenetix looks on the skin:
