As June inches closer and closer to us, our summer plans are starting to come to fruition. What better way to spend a summer afternoon/evening than on a funky rooftop bar? London has an array of cool spots that are serving up the best cocktails and views in the city. We paid a visit to John Lewis’ divine rooftop retreat, so we’re already itching to go to some more. Here are our top picks:
Queen of Hoxton’s Psychedelic Summer of Love
The Queen of Hoxton is changing its theme for the summer, and this time it is all about flower power. The “psychedelic Summer of Love” is a throwback to more groovier times with booze filled ice cream floats and rainbow ice cream sandwiches. Enjoy yoga classes and tie dye workshops while slurping down a boozy slushie, eating BBQ, and, as to not be completely in the dark age, enjoying a bit of Wifi too.

Dalston Rooftop
Enjoy a Western bao bun (melted goat’s cheese and pickle relish in a soft asian-style bun) by standing on a lush green lawn and an overlooking view of East London. Of course, you can burn of the delicious meal and alcohol with a rooftop yoga session.

Notch – Oxford Street
Swarms of shoppers mingled with summer heat doesn’t make for a pretty combination- escape it all with this fun space. Cool cocktails in jam jars, old fashioneds served in tuna cans, plus swings and greenery makes this place the perfect setting for a summer afternoon.
Frank’s Cafe
This summer only bar set on top of the multi-story car park in Peckham that has become uber popular to the point where it has reached a bit of a cult following. Watch the sun go down, enjoy Campari based cocktail, and expect to wait in a queue on particularly hot days.

Culpeper Roof Garden
The culpeper’s rooftop space is used to grow vegetables for its kitchen, as well as for enjoying a drink with great city views. Of course, with fresh greenery the herbs used in the cocktails the quality is unreal.
