The Backyard Cinema, as the name hints, is a theatre that makes you feel as if you are in your own backyard. With handmade screens, hanging circus lights, and impromptu furniture, the intention is to play up the experience of the film outside of the normal cinema setting.
The best aspect of this experience is that they don’t ask you to sit down and shut up, but rather get involved! If you feel the urge to stand up, dance, sing, it’s encouraged.
The venue is Camden Lock and it could not be more adapted to a truly chilled-out movie watching experience. It contains a bar, live DJ’s, and beanbag chairs. The menu is as unconventional as the atmosphere-with cupcakes, burgers, and obviously, popcorn. July 16th is the start of 20 iconic showings that will take place over the following 8 weeks, including Back to the Future, Pulp Fiction, Dallas Buyers’ Club, Superbad, This is Spinal Tap, and the Grease Sing-a-long. There’s serious range there!
The venue opens at 7 pm and you will be able to arrive up to an hour before the show starts at 9 pm. Book in for a viewing of your favourite film and a unique experience that won’t disappoint!
