Surely the most inspiring editrix in the industry, Carine Roitfeld bares all – having entrusted the direction to Fabien Constant – in the upcoming documentary Mademoiselle C.
As glossy and directional as the very images she creates, Mademoiselle C, follows the making of one of the most hyped and heavily anticipated fashion magazines to date, CR Fashion Book, as Roitfeld makes the move from French Vogue to launch her very own fashion tome.
Following the revered tastemaker on her whirlwind journey from concept to creation, with cameos from Alexander Wang, Karl Lagerfeld and Tom Ford, we’re invited to see a side of the editor that goes beyond her aptitude for iconic aesthetics. Frantic fashion soirees are offset by reflective moments as Carine practices ballet, tearfully discusses the joys of becoming a grandma and opens up about the stress and pressure that comes with worldwide anticipation and expectation for failure.
Along with behind-the-scenes making-of images from the debut issue, there’s a poignant shoot with a pregnant Julia Restoin Roitfeld and a delightful insight into the world of Chanel.
If you The September Issue had you falling in love with Grace Coddington, expect a similar reaction to the world’s most admired fashion editor, stylist, mother, grandmother and all-round-luminary
