Some time ago, I bought my cat a monthly subscription to a box of cat treats that would arrive to great excitement. Roger loved everything about his Kitnap box. There would be cat nip toys, feathers on strings and samples of new and exciting cat treats, some of which he became so obsessed with, I had to buy the full sizes. And this was the point of the box. Monthly joy and monthly must haves. An introduction to products that otherwise you would never have even heard of or knew existed. I often used to think that I wish they had a human box of treats and now they have. Birchbox is a monthly subscription to make up and beauty gorgeousness.
You subscribe for £10 and receive 5 beauty treats per month from really good brands offering their newest exciting products. You can personalise them and the cost is only £10 a month, the contents worth much more. In the beautifully packaged Christmas Birchbox there’s party emergencies such as Oribes Texturising Dry Shampoo in mini, a gorgeous moisture mask called Hydraluron and festive hair ties, a spring water spray and a gorgeous face oil from Caudalie. That in itself is an amazing, high end exquisite product.
I love the fact they are sample size because they easily get carried around in handbags and hand luggage – it won’t get confiscated at airports. Elemis, Benefit, Bobbie Brown are just some of the brands that have appeared in monthly boxes. Each one thoughtfully designed and looks pretty on your dressing table. Birchbox now has over 1 million subscribers worldwide but it still feels like a cosy community.
