Estee Lauder have announced that after 25 years, make-up artist Bobbi Brown is stepping down from her brand by the end of 2016.
Set up back in the 90’s, the idea behind Bobbi Brown makeup was to create a range of lipsticks that were flattering for all skin tones and this is how the brand was born.
In an interview with Alexandra Shulman, Vogue magazine, Brown revealed: “I was always fixing bad lipstick [and] I wanted to make a lipstick that looked like lips.” Working with a chemist she’d met on a shoot, she did just that and formulated her first ever collection of 10 natural lipstick shades. “He made it for me, and it was the colour of my lips. I didn’t know nude was going to be the big name in make-up, but it was nude.” Who would have thought, right?
Brown shared that the reason behind her decision to leave came after the brands 25th anniversary. “That made me realise it was time to start a new chapter and move on to new ventures”.
So we’re not entirely sure what the next steps are for Bobbi Brown but we’ll eagerly await and see what she does next.
