THE US MOVIE EXPERIENCES WE NEED

The British are renowned for their theater performances, but when it comes to the cinema experience we may need to learn a few things from The U.S. From stadium seating to theaters with motion-activated seats give audiences an even closer experience with the film.

Stadium Seating
Ditch the gradually sloping incline of seats for a stadium style auditorium. Each row is positioned equally one step above the other allowing for the perfect view of the screen no matter how far back you sit, or if that obnoxiously tall fellow happens sits in front of you. This style of seating is perfect for children so that they can see the screen without a booster seat. Forget craning your neck around the heads in front of you to catch your favourite scene anymore!

Motion Seats
Theaters in the United States have taken up the challenge to make their theater the best by installing seats that move and vibrate along side the actions of the film. Cinemagoers can feel the experience of the movie, whether that is the rhythm of the latest Disney musical or action flick. Imagine feeling like you’re flying along side the characters in the movie similar to a simulated ride. Don’t fret if you aren’t the type to like rides, you can adjust your seats or completely turn them off.

Luxury Theaters
Whether it is date night, family night or simply a night out with friends, going to the movie theater is becoming an escape from the hectic routine of the day. Luxury theaters are giving viewers the opportunity to, quite literally, kick up their feet and relax with reclining leather chairs, a staff that serves food and drink to your seat and an Imax screen. Luxury theaters are the way to splurge for the night with your family or a date, you can even select the seats you’d like in advance. It is the best way to spend the night at the theater for a film you love.

Drive-in Theaters
We have all seen the iconic drive-in theater from Grease, which peeked in the 50’s and 60’s. The United States has paved the way for reviving the old-fashioned drive-in theater bringing a new definition to an outdoor cinema. These themed drive-ins and are becoming an extremely popular aspect of an American summer. Cars line up opposite to a large screen and people gather snacks and blankets to watch the film from the roof, trunks or front seats of their vehicles while the radio give sound to the projected images.

Budget Theaters
Have you ever wanted to see a movie, but couldn’t get over the ridiculous prices that theaters charge? At budget theaters you can see a film for as little 3 U.S dollars. The only catch is that you may have to wait until after the film is released to larger theaters before it comes to a budget theater. For all those who are living on a dime, but looking for a night out at the theater with a great flick, budget theaters are the way to go. This is the perfect option for students or seeing that indie-flick with a group of friends.
