Now that Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week has come to an end, it’s time to dish about the looks we loved! The six day celebration of out-of-the-box fashions from designers including Chanel, Versace, Valentino, and Louis Vuitton wowed us with looks ranging from the elegant to the odd. So let’s get started, shall we?

Chanel’s show combined lavish embellishments, tailored tweeds, and spiked hairdos to create a posh and punky collection. Kendall Jenner (of Kardashian fame) made her haute couture modeling debut in the Chanel show, rocking a plaid dress adorned with feathers. Pregnant model Ashleigh Good closed out the show in a gilded wedding gown, showing off perhaps the best accessory of all – that baby bump!

Chanel wasn’t the only show taking inspiration from weddings. The Giorgio Armani Privé collection included a flowing black ballgown accompanied by a voluminous sequin-studded veil, while the Elie Saab show took a more literal route with a breathtaking white wedding dress with crystal embellishments. Ralph & Russo showed a showstopper with their take on the wedding gown, complete with a full skirt of epic proportions.
Daring sheer ensembles made a scandalous statement on the runway during the Valentino, Jean Paul Gaultier and Azarro shows, with models showing skin through flowing gauzy fabrics and strategically placed cutouts.

Kendall Jenner wasn’t the only familiar face hitting the catwalk during Haute Couture week – Eurovision winner Conchita Wurst strutted her stuff in a black gown and veil with red and gold detailing for Jean Paul Gaultier.

Christian Dior showcased a collection filled with soft pastels, floral prints, and full gowns with exaggerated hips. The flower-filled room only amplified the beauty of the fashions, and added an ethereal touch to the show.

My personal favorite look are these bright, candy-colored ruffled gowns and flower details on these pieces from Giambattista Valli, complete with sunglasses. And how cute are those hairwraps?!

As with any haute couture show, the looks showcased push the envelope of fashion, and often draw from the weird and whimsical for inspiration. Oscar Carvallo showed a springy, spiral ensemble that could very well have been a costume straight from the set of a Lady Gaga video. Schiaparelli’s show included festive, embellished party hats, while Maison Martin Margiela’s collected showcased a colorful mosaic gown that speaks for itself with a sweetheart neckline emblazoned with the words “I Love You.” Personally we loved the fashions shown at this year’s haute couture week, and we can’t wait to see what larger than life styles couture grace the runway next year!
