There’s no running away from the fact that travelling is one of the best ways to go on a social detox and switch off from chores and emails. However, if you want to make the experience worthwhile, you can plan a family trip. We don’t often have enough time to spend with loved ones, so it’s really important to make plans and take quality time together. When it comes to travel, most people tend to overpack and start obsessing over what to wear. Let’s look at some tips to make your trip more enjoyable and get you organised before you leave the house.

Apply the 50% Rule
If this is your first time travelling you might want to take everything with you and have a bulging suitcase.. This is where we would like to stop you and recommend applying the 50% rule. For example, if you have decided to take 6 pairs of jeans for your childrens clothing, we recommend you to cut the number by half. If you have 10 tops in your pile, cut the number by half. This way, you will have more space in your luggage and won’t have to carry excess stuff with you all the time and space to shop if you see something special.
Don’t Forget the Meds
Now that you have decided to set off and have fun, chances are that you might get a headache or feel nauseous during the journey. Make sure you take a first aid kit with you just in case and some essential oils that can help with many ailments naturally. We recommend you to carry painkillers, plasters and something for a funny tummy. Pack everything in a box, label it and put it in a place that is accessible to everyone.
Carry Snacks
It’s fun to think of what snacks you might want to keep you happy and don’t forget plenty of water, stay hydrated and don’t keep buying water bottles you will throw away. Try and give yourself a mix of healthy food as well as some treats, and nothing that is going to melt and cause sticky fingers all over the seats.
Keep a Copy of your Documents
Instead of swooning over the dr martens sale for their best sellers, make sure you complete all your documents on time. It’s a good idea to make a copy of your passport, identity card, driver’s license and other important documents while on the go. Especially if you are travelling to other countries by car, you will be asked to produce the documents. Then at least if you lose any of your important documents, you will have something to provide the authorities with. Travelling can be the most fun, the more you plan the better your experience will be!
