Keira Knightley, Jude Law, Aaron Johnson and Kelly Macdonald star in this autumn’s sumptuous adaptation of what can only be described as the most epic love story ever written, Anna Karenina. The classic novel, by Leo Tolstoy, as directed by Pride and Prejudice and Atonement director Joe Wright, tells the tale of love, passion and adultery in 19th century Russia.
Knightley, plays the beautiful and wealthy aristocrat, Anna Karenina, married to senior statesman, Count Karenin, as played by Jude Law. With a 20 year age gap, their marriage plays out somewhat staid and unremarkably, that is until Anna falls for the affluent and handsome, Count Vronsky, as played by Aaron Johnson.
As Anna and Count Vronsky enter into an all-too-obvious and life-changing affair under the watchful eye of the Russian society, Anna’s world begins to fall apart. Leaving us asking, at what price does love come?
