
Starring an award-winning cast, Great Expectations is directed by BAFTA winning director, Mike Newell, known for his work Four Weddings and A Funeral and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
This adaptation of Charles Dickens’ novel stars Jeremy Irvine as Pip, Holliday Granger as Estella, as well as Helena Boham Carter taking the role of Miss Havisham, Ralph Fiennes as Magwitch and a whole host of other British talent including Robbie Coltrane, Ewen Bremner, Jason Flemyng, Sally Hawkins and David Walliams.
The film has its premiere 11st September at the Toronto International Film Festival, closes the London Film Festival on 21st October and will find it’s way to UK cinemas 30th November.
For those who don’t know the classic story, young orphan Pip is given a chance to rise from his humble beginnings thanks to a mysterious benefactor. Moving through London’s class divided world as a gentleman, Pip uses his new found position to pursue the beautiful Estella, a spoilt heiress he’s loved since childhood. But the truth behind his great fortune will have disastrous consequences.
