Starring a host of both fresh and familiar faces including Emily Blunt, Mark Duplass, Rosemarie DeWitt and Mike Birbiglia, Your Sister’s Sister is a dramatic comedy about a compelling human story.
Out now on DVD, it’s the perfect film for a cosy Sunday afternoon after feasting on a roast.
Jack (Mark Duplass) is stuck in an emotional rut one year after his brother’s death. He decides to take his best friend Iris’s (Emily Blunt) advice to spend a week of relaxation and reflection at her family’s island retreat. Upon arriving at the house, Jack realizes that Iris’ sister Hannah (Rosemarie DeWitt) had the same idea, and the two spend an interesting evening together. Iris shows up unannounced the next morning, setting up an emotionally twisted tale about sisters, brothers and best friends.
Following the success of her Sundance award-winning film Humpday, director Lynn Shelton explores the intricacies of interpersonal relationships while creating humour surrounding her character’s predicaments.
