With all the buzz surrounding Christopher Kane‘s departure from his post at the helm of Versus and the rumor that he was to be the new creative director at Balcenciaga little thought went towards who would be helping in the revamp that Donatella Versace intends for her secondary line, Versus.
Until now that is, as it has just been announced that Jonathan Anderson (better known as J. W. Anderson) will be the first designer to follow on from Christopher Kane at Versus. Having recently collaborated on a collection for TopShop, the Brit designer is stepping up, having already created a capsule collection as the first of a series of collaborations with Versace.
So what can we expect from this exciting new collaboration? A press release from Versace explains that the collection will include both women’s and men’s ready-to-wear pieces as well as an accessories line plus it will be sold both online at www.versus.it and at top department stores globally. However, we won’t get a glimpse of the collection until Spring next year, when it will be launched at a special event in New York.
“I keep a close eye on young talent, and have been impressed by Jonathan’s work over the last couple of years,” said Donatella of her new collaborator. “Versus is all about fun, change, and digital. I can’t wait to present this collaboration!”
We can’t wait either Donatella.
