Antonio Banderas is finally able to combine his two passions in life: film and fashion. The actor has been announced as the man chosen to play the late Gianni Versace in an upcoming biopic about the designer’s life.
The Spanish actor, director and producer surprised the fashion industry and enrolled at Central Saint Martins to study Menswear Design last year, and in an interview reveals “it makes me feel actually very young to put the elbows on the table again and try to understand another reality.”
Rumours about the project surfaced last year and filming is set to start in December. While further details about the film are minimal, but what we do know is that it will be directed by Bille August and according to Italian media reports that filming will take place in Reggio Calabria, the southern town in which Versace was born, and Miami where he was sadly murdered in 1997.
