I’m always being told I don’t exfoliate enough yet I always seem to be exfoliating. I think I have dandruff of the face. When I heard microbeads in products were going to be banned I initially had a panic. How can an exfoliation be thorough? It’s not like I love microbeads, in fact, my skin is quite sensitive and an exfoliation, if it’s thorough, always leaves it a little red and harsh looking but I suppose we are addicted to the things we know even if we don’t love them.
So I welcomed the microbead free microdermabrasion from Exuviance. It has a paste-like texture, not scratchy, strangely smooth for something that’s a dermabrasion. It’s peach coloured and smelt of fruit so think of it as a face smoothie. It contains crystals that buff away dead skin and ten percent glycolic acid to buff away dark spots and pigmentation. It actually has pure papaya enzymes that dissolve dead skin and stimulate cell renewal.

It felt like a skin treat. It softened and it polished the skin. It didn’t cause any redness or irritation so who needs these beads anyway and apparently these tiny plastic structures can pass through water filtration systems and do ugly work.
I suppose I’ve become addicted to that feeling – OK my skin’s tingling, something must be working. Well, it turns out I can become equally excited by a face that’s polished and fresh without any tingling at all. You’re supposed to use it once or twice a week but your face looks so polished it’s very hard just to do it once. It costs £57.50.
I’m a huge fan of the Exuviance range. I love its science, I love its effortless luxury and I love how it captures the on-trend skin and delivers it to you. I am such a fan of the SkinRise Bionic Tonic pads that create a glass finish. I was advised to use sparingly as they are in instant facial in a pad and smell of cucumber. That doesn’t happen.
