Now the weather’s hotting up – we are so in the mood for sitting outside, chilling in the sun with some gorgeous food and good company in preparation for the Wimbledon Games to commence. What more to get you in the mood than some Wimbledon inspired menus to start off your summer.
The Ampersand Hotel – Wimbledon Afternoon Tea
The Ampersand Hotel are serving up a scrumptious Wimbledon-themed Afternoon tea available from 27th June – 17th July, intricately designed and bursting with delicious flavour.
Their exclusive afternoon tea includes Savoury gougeres – Glouster old spot ham, sauce gribiche; Cheese with fruit chutney; H.Forman & Son London smoked salmon, dill and cream cheese; Coronation chicken – followed by home white chocolate and plain scones, served with Devonshire clotted cream & homemade strawberry preserve. Their Wimbledon pastries include a coconut mousse and mango passion fruit jelly tennis ball on a lime sponge tennis court, Ginger bread tennis racket, Strawberry and cream tart, Blueberry white chocolate ganache macaroon and Pimm’s cocktail shot.

Brew Cafe – Brew Balls, Please!
Brew Cafe have just had their Wimbledon location renovated, redesigned and fitted with a wood-firing pizza oven. So there is no better place than to base yourself right in the heart of Wimbledon, watching the tournament on their big screen, which, is said to be the haunt for players and coaches including Leyton Hewitt and Maria Sharapova. So who knows who you might bump into! What’s more, have something truly delightful to eat, appropriately coinciding with Wimbledon theme – a Tennis Ball Lamington. Brew Cafe have done their very own original tennis-take on the Australian classic, which is a sponge cake, covered in chocolate and sprinkled with coconut. Yum.
Go and visit them to try their ‘Winning Wimbledon Cocktails’, too. They have a selection of drinks to choose from, including Champagne Sharapova, Cash Collins, and more.
Daphne’s Installation & Wimbledon Menu
Daphne’s is embracing the tennis frenzy, and from today, they have adorned their restaurant with a creative tennis-ball installation and their chef has devised a special lunch menu – bursting with seasonal flavours and ingredients including Crisp zucchini flowers with Stracciatella, Chargrilled chicken breast with peas & broad beans puntalette, Blush peach sorbet with Pimm’s granita and the requisite Strawberries & cream.
For Finals Weekend (Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th June), Daphne’s ice cream bike is back with Wimbledon themed favourites; strawberry, chocolate and pistachio. And for those who simply cant stay away from the action, there will be a big screen in the bar to host all of you Wimbledon fans out there.
The Wimbledon lunch menu runs from 29 June to 12 July (2 courses: £23.50 / 3 courses: £27.50)
The Ice cream bike from 12 noon to 7pm on Saturday, 11 & Sunday, 12 June
34 in Mayfair, presents their eccentric dessert Advantage 34, and it has a true Wimbledon Tribute. A feast for your eyes and tummy, 34’s Pastry Chef Alice Hall has created a green sprayed white chocolate bombe filled with Pimm’s ice cream, fresh English strawberries and strawberry sauce, set on chocolate soil, served with cucumber jelly, borage flowers and more fresh hot strawberry sauce. Wow!
Landmark London Wimbledon Afternoon Tea at the Winter Garden
Landmark London are celebrating the Wimbledon tradition of strawberries and cream, and are hosting an afternoon tea available at their stunning eight-storey glass atruim Winter Garden restaurant. Their pastry chef Pierre will be serving up a traditional afternoon tea menu with some added panache in flavours and presentation – Pimm’s jelly infused with mint or classic strawberry cheese cake. To add to the summer galore, the Wimbledon-inspired afternoon tea comes with a glass of Champagne.
Landmark London’s Wimbledon themed afternoon tea at the Winter Garden restaurant is available from Monday 29th June to Sunday 12th July for £45 per person.
