If you don’t know Imelda May, now is your chance to get to know her heartfelt music – she’s the former Rockabilly queen, but if you’re a fan, get ready to hear her as you never have before.
The signer has released her first single ‘Call Me’ from her forthcoming album to be released in 2017. It seems the 42 year old Irish singer has found a new groove.
May says this is her most honest album to date, revealing that in the past she would “hide things in my songs and twist them around,” but this time the singer tells it exactly how it is.
“It’s therapy, like keeping a diary that a lot of people read” Imelda explains: “Some of my favourite songs don’t say much, but they reveal everything.” Imelda May played at Ronnie Scott’s in London on 28th November, and we were blown away. She is so talented, and her new album is the most heartfelt and raw one we’ve heard from her. Some of today’s artists aren’t as good live as they are recorded, but Imelda May is not one of them. There were several teardrops falling from audience members.
You can listen for yourself and hear the truth behind her music…
‘Call Me’ is the first sight of the new Imelda May.
