LONDON EXHIBITIONS 2018

March 5, 2018

By Shelly Fulks

There are lots of new exhibitions coming to London museums in March. Whether you’re an art lover or just looking for something to do, here is a list of the ones that we think are must-sees.

Tate Modern

If you are a Picasso fan, you’ll need to visit Tate Modern sometime between 8 March and 9 September. You will be able to see 100 works by Pablo Picasso which he created in just one year. The exhibit called The EY Exhibition Picasso 1932 – Love, Fame, Tragedy mixes his art with personal pictures so you can see the inspiration of the great artist.

You will also be able to see a large collection of Joan Jonas’s works from 14 March until 5 August at Tate Modern. Her works often make statements about the environmental issues like extinction and climate change.

V&A Museum

If you feel like exploring your inner child, you should take a trip to the V&A Museum of Childhood between 30 March and 2 September. They will be displaying the Century of the Child: Nordic Design for Children 1900 to Today. This is a fun collection of the Nordic design, architecture, and art for kids. Many of the versions of this exhibit have had actual playgrounds where the fun can truly come to life.

Wellcome Collection

If you are more science-minded, you should visit Somewhere in Between: Four Collaborative Projects at the Wellcome Collection from 8 March to 27 August. The 4 artists worked modern scientific research into their works to make statements about our world that deal with the human experience. It should be interesting to see how art can truly speak out on any number of issues and ideas.

The Design Museum

Lastly, the Design Museum will be displaying Hope to Nope: Graphics and Politics 2008 – 2018 from 28 March through 12 August. This display includes the various political messages that have been spread through the past 10 years through campaign posters and memes.

All of these exhibits should give you something to do, something to think about, or something to talk about. I know I can hardly wait until March rolls around to give them a visit.
