As much as we don’t like to admit it, we all get the occasional spot or blemish. Some skin types are more prone to blemishes than others, but it’s something we all have to deal with at least from time to time.
It seems like more recently than ever, us women have been struggling to perfect our daily skin routine with some admitting to feeling embarrassed, unattractive, and frustrated when it came to problem skin. According to a Blemish Report by Garnier, one in five women are avoiding being in photographs, and one fifth of the women studied even admitted to rearranging or canceling a date night due to a bad spot – we’ve all been there girls!

We’ve all got ways we try and hide our blemishes when they happen. Most of us may use makeup to cover up, which seems like the most straight forward way, but some of us take even more extreme measures, from completely avoiding eye contact, to even staying in out of embarrassment. Not saying we haven’t done this…
London dermatologist, Dr. Justine Kluk says: “Breakouts and blemishes are on the rise and I am seeing more women in their twenties and thirties with these issues in my clinic than ever before. [This is not] surprising to me as a Dermatologist, and confirm the huge impact of problem skin on body image and self-esteem. Although expert advice may be needed in certain cases, for most women establishing a good daily skincare routine and sticking to it are usually a good place to start.”
You may already have a skincare routine in place but there are also more affordable brands like Garnier to give your skin some love as well as so many other alternative. It’s a fact of life that we’re all going to have to deal with skin issues at some point, if someone says they have perfect skin, they’re lying! We’re all different so you just need to figure out what works well for you.
