Sport luxe is a bit hard to define as it’s a broad genre. It doesn’t mean wearing a Nike shirt or Adidas pants, but it does help sometimes. Pop over to my article defining sportswear. Pieces you wouldn’t always consider office environment can totally be worn to work. Trainers can dress down a dress and heels can dress up joggers. Sport luxe is so versatile; there aren’t any rules.
Consider this: sport luxe as prêt-à-porter.
Shorts aren’t always regarded as the best thing to wear normally, but a flashy pair can change the whole feel of an outfit. These metallic shorts dress up the t-shirt and bomber.
I absolutely favor a good pair of joggers. Joggers are a chic and comfortable alternative to slacks and can be worn a million different ways. Practically any shoe can be paired with them: flats, trainers, heels, booties, the list goes on.
A pair of trainers are almost the epitome of sport luxe. Trainers are so cool to throw on with a pair of jeans and your favorite sweater. They can also be worn with skirts and dresses. Don’t be afraid to try it out!
I consider these outfits smart casual and more accepted in the workplace. If you’re looking for a more comfortable way to wear joggers and trainers, read my sportswear article.
